Makerspace & Lego Club
Makerspace: 12:00 - 1:00, Lego Club: 1:00 - 2:00 Weekly on Saturday. Starting at 12, tinker with some of the newest tech toys, gadgets and games. Then at 1:00, we break out the Lego and you can build the biggest, wildest creation you can think of.

Stick to the Story with Victoria and Dave Bennison
The North Bay Public Library will be hosting an Author Talk featuring Victoria and Dave Bennison, authors of Stick to the Story, on Saturday, May 5 from 1 – 2:30 p.m. in the Children’s Storyroom. Inspired by her husband’s handcrafted walking staffs and wands, a love of fairy tales, fables, nature and their adventures, Victoria Bennison began to write stories. These stories have now been collected and published in Stick to the Story. Join us as Victoria and Dave talk about the book, and the people and places that have inspired them to create unique hand-carved staffs and equally unique stories for each one.
This free event is for ages 6 and up. Please register in the Children’s department. Books will be available for purchase for cash only.

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. Different programs being run every Saturday between 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm. These are drop in programs, no registration required.

Kid Zone Saturday At The Library

Free Youth Centre
Free for youth aged 10 - 18 who are interested in field sports, health & wellness, outdoor skills, field-trips and arts. Program runs until June. 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday. Please note that this is a drop in/drop out program for youth 10-18 and therefore we endorse the responsibility of the youth to arrange with parents/guardians their best route to and from Caldwell-Ellam Community Centre. The Milky Way Society Presents: Community Star Gazing Event
Come early and meet your neighbours. Bring the kids. Jodi Baker from Wasauksing First Nation will share a First Nation creation story. Georgian Bay Biosphere will be on hand to teach us about bats and owls.  Telescopes will be set up for everyone to enjoy a feature in the night sky. Other telescopes are welcome and binoculars, flashlights and blankets - plus your child-like outlook. Rain date, May 6. All ages, free.

Walk So Kids Can Talk
On Sunday, May 6, 2018, walk to support Kids Help Phone so we can help youth feel more empowered to take on life’s challenges, big and small. Registration starts at 9:00am and then the walk will start at 10:00am. Young people can talk to us about any concerns they have; sometimes, we are the only place they can turn to for help. Walk to ensure Kids Help Phone is always open, and a safe space where youth can be heard without judgement. Unite with thousands of Canadians for a fun 5K walk. Sign up as an individual or a team with family, friends or co-workers. Earn rewards. The more you raise, the more you earn.
Pet Friendly: Yes, all pets must be on a leash.
Free Refreshments will be provided to the Walkers. Free Face Painting for Kids. Ken the Balloon Dude will be making balloons for Kids Walk.
