Are your little ones excited about staying up late to watch fireworks this Sunday? Here is the list of local events for Canada Day Long Weekend.

FunFest in Callander
Join Callander's annual community celebration on Saturday, June 30th! The event kicks off with a pancake breakfast 7:30 - 10 am at the Community Centre, followed by a parade, awards, cake, competitions, live entertainment, bouncers, kids' crafts & activities, vendors, fireworks and much more at Centennial Park. Lots of fun for young and old!

Strawberry Social at the North Bay Farmers Market
The Annual Strawberry Social is taking place on Saturday June 30. Join our host Mitch Deschatelets from Leisure Farms for mouth-watering tasty strawberry shortcake with fresh local strawberries from Leisure Farms, topped with whipped cream for only $2.00 each. This well attended market event will be found in the center of our market. And yes, this tasty event will still be on Rain or Shine, so come out to support the market and enjoy a little bit of strawberry for your Saturday jaunt.

Town Wide Scavenger Hunt
Get your family and friends together and help you gather all the items. Each team must have one adult. Please pre-register at the library.

Honey Harbour Canada Day 
The Honey Harbour Coop’s Canada Day Festival will be held Saturday, June 30 from 10 am to 2 pm. Celebrate at the Honey Harbour Park Landing beside the Library. And of course the Library will also be holding their Giant Book Sale from 9 am to 2pm.
There will be activities, vendors selling their wares and interesting booths to visit including Georgian Bay Islands National Park, Trent Severn Waterway, Parry Sound Apiary & GB Township Firefighters. Buy a raffle ticket from the Coop booth to support the Coop in putting on local events and supporting our community school and others. Besides the Book Sale, the library will be hosting a Jewellery and Handbag Sale to raise funds for library programming. Dylan Locke will join us from 10:30 to 12:30 when his amazing live music will get us all toe tapping.

Makerspace: 12:00 - 1:00, Lego Club: 1:00 - 2:00 Weekly on Saturday. Starting at 12, tinker with some of the newest tech toys, gadgets and games. Then at 1:00, we break out the Lego and you can build the biggest, wildest creation you can think of.

The Village of South River and the Township of Machar, are hosting Canada Day Celebrations on Saturday June 30. A Parade starts things off at 1pm at the Happy Landing Yard, and finishes at the Fairgrounds. Stay for all the events until 4pm.
Then you can head over to Eagle Lake at Dusk for Fireworks.
