Family Day is a tradition in Canada first observed on February 18, 2008. Come to think of this, it is surprising, that celebration of something as important as family became an official holiday so recently. So let’s take full advantage and have some fun this weekend! Below are a few family events in our area:

Family Day Free Hot Dog Lunch
Enjoy meal and active time outdoors.
Wasi Ski Club
11 am - 1.30 pm, Astorville 

Family Festival
Activities include bouncy house, sledding, hockey tournament, winter arts and crafts, human curling, scavenger hunt, snow painting and free lunch.
Greenwood Baptist Church
10 am - 2 pm, 235 Albert Avenue, North Bay

Family Day at the Museum at Canadian Forces Museum of Aerospace Defence
Try on authentic military uniforms and accessories, and get a family portrait taken in our annual dress-up photo studio. Museum exploration games and activities, great for ages 4 years and up.
10 am to 4 pm, 22 Wing/CFB North Bay, Hornell Heights

Family Day at YMCA
Supervised games and activities. Your admission to the YMCA on Family Day is free with a donation to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.
9 am – 4 pm, YMCA of North Bay, 186 Chippewa Street West, North Bay

Family Day Skate and Free BBQ
Bobby Orr Community Centre.

Family Day Weekend at The Canadian Ecology Centre
Saturday Feb 18th, 7pm - 9pm: Evening Campfire and Observatory (pending clear skies)
Sunday Feb 19th, 7pm - 9pm: Candlelit snowshoe walk through the forest, wolf howl and Observatory (pending clear skies)
Sunday program open to public @$5/person (children 5 and under are free)
1 night @ $138+ HST
2+ nights @ $103.50+ HST per night

Skating and Tobogganing
Bonfield Rink with Recreation and Fitness Committee Members with hot chocolate, cookies, and coffee.
1 pm – 4 pm, Bonfield Rink
