First weekend of June is here, the weather is nice, and some of us have already opened the swimming season! Enjoy your time outside, before the shadflies arrive. List of local events:


North East Trillium Horse Show

Knowlton Ridge in Powassan, Ontario is hosting the Hunter/Jumper Competitions June 3rd and 4th and June 17th and 18th. Variety of Vendors, great jumpers, Admission is free. Bring the family and come see this event.

20th Anniversary Celebration of the North Bay Heritage Gardeners

Join us at the waterfront to celebrate 20 years of Heritage Gardeners. This year, we will be hosting a 20th anniversary and volunteer recognition event. Our goal is to recognize and thank the over 300 volunteers who have worked hard to maintain the waterfront.

NAISA Grand Opening: Special Opening Day Concert

NAISA is pleased to launch its new space in South River, ON in June 2017 - the NAISA North Media Arts Centre. Featured on June 3rd will be special opening day events during gallery hours (10am-4pm) and an 8pm concert featuring local artist Christine Charette. All Ages, Gallery Exhibition is PWYC, Concert $10.

Community Achievement Day

The Village of Sundridge hosts the annual Community Achievement Day at Lions Park. There will be children’s games, music and the lion BBQ stand will be open. If you are daring, bring your swimsuits for the opening of the splash pad.

Victory 1 Cruise Ship in Port 

The Victory 1 Cruise Ship, a 202 passenger vessel will be in port in Parry Sound. See the ship at the Town Dock on Bay Street.

Open Streets Parry Sound

Community activities will be set up on James St between Seguin and Rosetta.  Come out and enjoy an "open" street to ride your bike, skateboard, walk, jog or dance. Follow on Facebook for a list of activities.

Callander Car Boot Sale & Indoor Market

Come check out a Massive Sale-find a trinket or treasure! There will be over 100 vendors, Car Boot Sale sellers, live music, and artists showcasing their wares. 1 large hall with vendors of all sorts, 1 hall with artists hosted by the NRCC, and plenty of people selling from the trunks of their cars or under tents outside! Food trucks, face painting, henna, and balloon twisting will also be on site. A food donation for the Callander Food Bank in lieu of admission would be greatly appreciated.

'Where Is The Airport' Lecture

Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides

This spring, North Bay residents and their four-legged “best friends” are preparing to walk together for the Pet Valu Walk for Dog. The largest fundraising endeavor of its kind, the Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides helps to raise, train and place service dogs with Canadians who have a medical or physical disability. Registration is at noon, Walk begins at 1pm. Fun doggie warm up session, Prizes, Silent Auction, BBQ, and every registered walker leaves with a bag of goodies.
