Infant & Child Development Program

Infant and Child Development Program support children from birth up until daycare or school entry, who may have delays or who are at risk for a developmental delay.

About the Program:

Infant and Child Development Programs are family-centered and bring parents and professionals together to help children overcome developmental difficulties to the best of their abilities. Each family is unique and parents know their children best. This means that you, the parent, decide on what kind of support you need.

If you are concerned about your child’s development, the Infant and Child Development Programs can help. Families play a vital role in every child’s development. A child develops at a rapid pace. Physical, social, emotional, communication, intellectual and behavioural development depends in part on experiences provided by the child’s family.

Infant and Child Developmental Professionals have varied backgrounds in health and social work. They have extensive knowledge in child development, and can assist you to enhance your child’s skills in these important years. Once you are referred to our services a developmental clinic appointment is scheduled with you and your child. A developmental assessment will be completed at this time.

Together, we will plan activities that best meet your child and family’s needs. This could include home visits, referrals to other services, as well as parental support and guidance.
